It is indisputable that music has an impact on 'street fashion'. This is emphasised in the video (below) where Alexa discusses street fashion and her style inspirations. It is my aim to highlight the connection between fashion and music and how a person's taste in music is reflected by the way they dress.
So, which bands and artists do you believe have an impact on your dress sense?
If you are new to blogger, or you are having difficulty generating comments then I will be a doll and quickly explain how to do so. Tell us your music/fashion influences.
I used to dress like Robert Smith from The Cure for about a year, as I decided he was much more stylish than any woman could ever be..
ReplyDeleteAn intriguing thought, we are often blind sighted when it comes to music vs. fashion particularly as we immerse ourselves deeply in music we often overlook how it affects us.
ReplyDeleteMagazines influence us to focus on corporate brands and styles but it is much more indulgent as Alexa suggests rummaging through vintage rails and charity shops such as musician Coco Sumner who has an admirable and quirky style.
I get a lot of fashion inspiration from Pixie Lott. She mixes indie and rock and roll with girlie which is something I am found of. Her Lipsy collection proves she is a style icon!
ReplyDeletei think the way bands dress definitely effects my own personal style, people like Caleb Followill and Dan Auerbach influence the way i dress.
ReplyDeletei can't say i follow fashion directly, but i listen to a lot of typical american bands, pop punk kinda stuff, and generally they wear bright colours (purples, oranges, etc) which subconsciously i wear a lot. Alex Gaskarth i would say would be the main influence if there is a culprit i guess
